Default Little Terns in action

Just sharing my humble Terns series which I have been watching and shooting for the last couple of months before they finally migrate. Hopefully, next year they will be back in greater numbers.

I watched a group fishing close to the shore, working back and forth each with head directed downwards, scanning the surface.

Suddenly wing movement ceased and each bird
plunge-dived into the waters reversing as it dropped.

Often times completely submerged

but was on the wing again before the splash subsided.

Little terns work hard for a living and by no means every dive brings rewards.

but their hard work do reap rewards

All shots are taken at different times which explains the different color tones.
Hope you enjoy this series.

All shots taken with a D70, AF300/F4.

Cheers
