Exclamation Which Hammerhead Flash For My 300D?

Hi all,

As a last resort, if I cant find a 550EX or 420EX, I will consider a Hammerhead Flash.

Any Canon 300D user use the Hammerhead Flash? Which to recommend? Any pointers to take note?

I have posted one thread looking for one Hammerhead Flash too. Any one wanna sell may PM or call me.

Regards,
Jack

Metz 60CT-4, Metz 45-CL4, both are good hammerheads. You'll have to get a PC-hotshoe adaptor from CP to be able to work it on your 300D..

If I get these flash, either one, will I:

1)Still get E-TTL?
2)Got FEC on the flash itself?
3)Prices for a new set?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

All these are Auto flashes, and Metz flashes are excellent in Auto mode, more accurate than ETTL/ETTL-II. There is no need for FEC. Brand new ones can cost from $600-1k

But it loses out to the Metz 60CT-4 for close range...

I've got a Metz 45CT1 lying around. Would this be good on a 300D? Any settings that I need to take note? Should I use manual or program mode on the camera?

For hammerhead, always use Manual mode on your camera as you'll have to fix the settings on your flash
