Default Data recovery services for damaged HDD.

    Hello all,

I have a friend that is looking for data recovery services for his crashed HDD. He has saved all of his business data in it and is willing to pay for the service rendered.

Can anyone out there help to identify any companies that can offer such services?

    TIA.

Have your friend contact me, I had used a service here, very good, recovered 150 GB of data for me from a raid controller (the data splitting one). Not cheap, but they did it in 2 days, but for 12 months worth of photo, worth every penny.

I find that the data not worth $150, so did not use them. normally they will burn CD-R for you.

    Thanks, Sjourn.

My friend will definitely pay the $150 for the data in the HDD.

How can my friend identify the shop at SLS Level 4? (since the name is not known) He will gladly try them out. He has nothing to lose anymore. Business data is much more important.

I remember talking to the folks on the 4th floor of SLS when I was looking for a data recovery service. Does not feel good about them, so I walked. $150 is for simple recovering of corrupted files. The price starts to escalate. And if they have to open up the HDD itself, I rather they do it in a clean room. Anyway, just my thoughts and experiences when I had to go thru this only a few months ago.

I think they will work out on the cost on how much the customer want to recover...I also not sure.

Canew: Better ask your friend to check properly on the cost for recovery and terms hor...later dun find me if does'nt work...

I'm not sure if ur friend's willing to take the risk but...

    He can try freezing it.

But do it as a last, final, ultimate, no-choice, no-go resort.

I just did. Looked at 3 places not including the one at SLS, short listed 2, and picked the one that is 1) more accessible and 2) more responsive to my inquiry.

Now, back up, back up and more back up

Deadpoet, thanks. I just called my friend up and he said that he has already spoken to you!

Thanks to everyone that has contributed to my question.
