Was this from the recent Malaysia trip?

Yes, it is 1/6, and it is taken "overseas".

600mm + 1.4TC. Cannot flash this kind of bird, the feathers reflect and the color is off. The bird under dark canopy.

1/6 on a 600/4L on a mount is no mean feat... or don't tell me you were handholding it like the last time! Kudos on the nice capture.

No lar, I am no Arnold! heeeh... Everything has to be locked down. I was quite surprised it worked because I did not use the remote cord. Sometimes dangerous, because at such crucial moments, you do stupid things like resting all your weight on the CF tripod legs to anchor them, may break them coz they are brittle. Open those legs wide and rest your top body weight on the lens, then lightly tap the button.

Benny! Now you know why I lamented not having a 1DSmkii myself to get the shot! Erm, okay the shot is cropped 4-5% to frame the bird better. I am still not pleased with it, cos the f-stop was too shallow, the rear end is a bit blur. But increasing the f-stop in this instance means CONFIRM no sharp shots! IS IS IS IS IS !!!

Ok. I'm sold. Will shell out the milk money to get the IS version instead.

Cheers,
