Canon do have a dual lens in one lens equipment. But is for videography only. What this lens do is to capture the images as if like what our eye sees (3 dimensional?). Don't really know the in-depths of it & how the pics/images will be look like.
So, any pros good at this out there to clearify that? Or I'm talking no brainer things again?

Heard from someone they have black long tele L, but those are custom.

Next revolution? I guess auto compose? lol. Don't think too much, else it's always buy buy buy. I sort of hate that slogan nowadays

Canon USA introduces 3D Lens for the XL1 Digital Video Camcorder in April 2001

http://www.tvcameramen.com/newsroom/...2001_canon.htm

the new Canon lens actually is two lenses in one, with stereoscopic synchronization controlled by the camcorder. Easy to use, the lens captures right and left eye images alternately on the CCD for 1/60 second using an LCD shutter panel.

Really? I always thought DO was something significant, for one lenses made using DO technology are significantly smaller/lighter (e.g. 400mm f/4 at 3000g whereas the 400mm f/4 DO IS weights only 2080g) and it supposedly also offers better image quality, corrects CA etc.

Well, too bad that KM already have patented their anti-shake system built in the latest DSLR. If not, just imagine if this AS/IS/VR/OS is used in both lenses & camera body, think how much more shutter speed can you achieve with it? Or another of my no brainer thoughts again?

How abt exciting things like:
- Motion Freeze Technology (literally, FREEZE any form of motion like the Panasonic ad on TV)
- Super Ultra Low Dispersion Glass (zero Chromatic Abberations under all lightings)

U'll need a microprocessor on-board that's capable of converting those values to sound and its smart enuff to coordinate with ur brain.

That will cost u like.... $10million with a surgery that wires it up to ur brain?

oh very easy...

autofocus, zoom lens, USM, IS.... these are significant, why? u just have to sit down and imagine not having them...

DO is not significant, why? well, same, u just have to imagine not having it....... ah... sit down and imagine liao then realise its no big deal without it right?

also, if its really so revolutionary, how come there r only like 2 DO lens from canon out there, while almost all others are AF and USM, half are zooms and several with IS?
even those 2 DO lens also have IS and USM!! haha! now, imagine those 2 DO lens without IS and USM... dont think any1 would even wanna look at them, right?

and forget abt correcting CA and other stuff... tons of lens out there claim that they can do that too

Ah, yes. How can we forget... Liquid Glass.

Maybe we can put in an OLED display in place of the LCD monitor? Lower power consumption which means u guys can shoot-shoot-shoot.
