Red face newbie question regarding custom curves.

Hi all Canon SIFUs,

I am a newbie here trying to understand the terms on photography.. using an old EOS 300D.
I read from digital life regarding custom curves that you could load custom curves to give more punch to the photo with some popular custom curves as follows :-
- fotogenetic point & shoot.
- Optima
- sReala

Till now I still cannot figure out how to do this and how to begin and wish some advise and guides here.
also I do not understand how custom curves are use since the environment temperature is volatile ? thanks for everyone's help.

I could be wrong, but i don't think you can load a custom tone curve into a 300D like you can with a D70. On a 1-series, you can shoot a raw image, apply curves and load custom curve using EVU.

I believe you can set some parameters under custom params (contrast, sharpness, saturation, color tone).

yup. i don't think 300D can load.. owned a 300D and there's no such function even with the hack. can load such curves in photoshop atn and batch process..

In Canon EOS 5D, there is "picture style" user1, user2, user3 in image parameter. Did 300D or 350D have something like "picture style" user in image parameter?

Nikon D70/D70s can only download 1 customs curve (confirm, I have D70s).
I can download customs curve to the camera using Nikon Capture (must buy leh..., not free, but 1 month trial version can be used to download)

Regards,
Arto.

20D also cannot

another way of doing it is to shoot raw, then use ACR or C1 to tune curve lor. Or as what drumma mentioned, just do it in PS in a batch.
