No lah... that is only true for their E-system, from E-10 to E-1 to E300/500. Practically 80~90% of all consumer & prosumer digicams uses Sony's CCD.

I wonder, who will pay for all the damages, Oly or Sony?

What's Oly (Singapore) going to do for C-5050? Can we bring or C-5050 to Oly(S) for checkup???
Update. Oly (Singapore) informed me that users of C-5050 can bring in their cams to Oly workshop for free checkup. If the CCD is the same batch as that announced by the advisory, they will replace the new CCD for no charges. For existing users whom cams were repaired earlier (and they paid for the servicing), Oly will need to discuss on a case-by-case with the users in their office. :-)

Wow.. C-7070W replacement for C-5050Z. That should be the best outcome for me. I have a C-7070W and I'm definitely more glad to have another C-7070W !!!
