Is this a bed bug? I found it at home.

Do I need to request help from pest controller now? Or observe for a period of time? Please advise, as I do not wish to let the matter become worst.

Yes it's a bed bug. The earlier you get rid of them the better. They proliferate rapidly and give you an itchy night rest.

By the way why a bird in the 2nd image?

    Thanks for the confirmation.

I just hope that this is the 1 and only 1 bed bug in my house. Will observe for 1 or 2 weeks.

As for the second photo, I just hope that the bird can eat the bug, .

Pasted the wrong photo, it is a photo that I took in Australia and I have posted up in this forum for the id.

Bed bugs breed very fast and very hardy...they can stay latent until they smell blood. My bed was infected, which i think came from an infected bed during a business trip to Yangon around a year ago. I suspected it as when sleeping after 1 week back from Yangon, I felt like millions of pins poking my legs and confirmed it when flipped over the bed.

Immediately contact pest controller and solved the situation within a day.

My advice is to have it check, isolate the nest before they infect the whole house.

You better lift up your mattress to see whether there's a whole family of the bug. I kena once, tried every method I can find on the internet, and suffered for weeks before I finally eradicated them all. It was a very mentally exhausting period of time...

What's really important is that, you have to make sure there's no egg. It's no use if you only rid of the bugs.

If you can afford, just get the pest control. Good luck...

    Bro, definitely a bed bug.

I kena once. Not a pleasant experience. You have to turn your bed upside down and find all the corners to find if there is anymore of them. They like to hide in warm places and come out and suck your blood at night.

Go buy the bed bug spray from shop and spray your whole room for probably one week. Just read the instructions on the spray.

If you kena bite means still got bed bugs left. The red spots very obvious one, not like mosquito bites)

*Btw, I kena and ownself eradicate them all. Budget option, no money spend on pest control

Not only furniture. Repaint your room if you have this problem. Best to call in peSt control. Sprayin with off the shelves products cannot remove all. In the extreme case, you may need to throw away your mattress and funiture. Rattan is worse.
