You can also use the EX-25 on some of ZD lenses to take macro. Some of our friends here shoot marco with this setup and are able to get very good result. There are also quite a number of Zuiko OM macro lenses for you to choose from but you need an adapter to mount the lens onto the E-300. Hope this help. |

With the ZD50 and EX-25 you'll be able to see the hairs on insects. Anything more will be considered Microscopic Digital Photography

The ZD 50mm f2.0 Macro retails at about S$900
The EX-25 is S$250. A baby mantis, no longer than a 5 cent coin (50mm f8.0, 1/100s, ISO 320) ![]() The macro is also a very good portrait lens: (50mm f4.0, 1/125s, ISO 400, EV -0.3) ![]() I simply love this lens. I think, you will too... ![]() Last edited by ykkok; 10th October 2005 at 09:40 PM. |

Sorry for asking so many questions about taking macros recently, but with the absence of equipment, I would like to understand for myself, the best options of taking decent macros within a limited budget. Thanks.

You need higher magnification factor. 40-150 with EX-25 don't give you enought mag. factor. The 50mm f2.0 gives you 1:2 and the new 35mm f3.5 macro will give you even better, at 1:1.
50mm f2.0 with EX-25, is 1:1 35mm f3.5 with EX-25, is 2:1 50-200mm f2.8-3.5 at max zoom is about 1:4, but with EX-25, it's close to 1:2. You may want to check each lens's mag factor from Oly site. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

As far I can see this 35mm F3.5 Marco should be ard 350~400 SGD.
As for its focusing, it should be much closer. This Lens can be a MUST GRAB item. As far U can compare the differences on the MTF to its 50mm F2 Marco counterpart. 35mm F3.5 Marco ![]() 50mm F2 Marco ![]() |
