Better read in dpreview.com There are user reviews for each camera.

Did not see this thread earlier, and hence the late reply...sorlee...

This is just my personal view and I have tested my 5700 quite extensively when I went to the US recently.

Pros:

1. Small, compact 5 MP DC to carry.
2. Reproduce sharp images and good colour reproduction (both low and bright light).
3. Trusty and reliable, even in harsh weather condition (I was in hot Grand Canyon and cold San Francisco in a matter of days)
4. Easy to use (for me!)

Cons:

1. Rather slow zoom and focusing.
2. Minor barrel distortion (not really a problem unless u shoot brick walls all the time)
3. Battery life (can be rectified with the batt pack)

Cheers!

According to my friend who own one, after a recent firmware update the camera perform a lot better, even faster than before.

There has not been any firmware upgrade for the 5700. U must be mistaken for some other DC like the 5000?

unreal?? care to elaborate more?? cos they seems fine to me.

However, personally i find the background quite distracting. I'm oso wondering did the person shoot at very high ISO e.g 400 cos the amt of noise is quite visible.

Yup. I am referring to the high noise level in the background as well.
