any 602z user successfully taken a decent group shot?
I so frustrated that all group shots taken with my 602z is somehow not able to have all members to be focus in the shot. I have tried serveral mode with tripod: 1) F11 in manual mode (with AF or manual focus), 2) Auto mode 3) SP Portrait mode 4) SP Landscape mode Preview in LCD looks wonderful. Back to PC looks like Sh*t, sure got one or more member face appear to be blur. All failed. please help. Last edited by malkw; 21st October 2002 at 06:51 PM. |

If helps to have everyone's face on the same focal plane though, as in ensuring everyone's face is at the same distance. How large a group are you talking about? 2M might be a little close though, slight differences in the position might result in out of focus due to the DOF being shallower. This might explain why you are getting problems. The further away you are from the subjects, the less likelihood of getting off focus faces. You might want to try setting the camera further back and then zooming in. It should help. I typically shoot from further out(>4m) and then zoom in. For starters, make sure your subjects are 'decent' looking people...

Normally I just stand way back, such that I can compose the shot near full tele.(Makes the background look nicer too.....compressed perspective). BTW, any samples of your failed shots? Would like to see the chiobu! ![]() |

2m is really too close.... those at the sides could be ~3m from the camera.
are you using the wide-angle converter too? they generally have a wider depth of field too. |
