Default Studio Photography with a TLR

Is it possible to take studio exposures with a TLR like Rolleiflex, Yashicamat, Seagull? I'm new in studio lighting and wanted to know if the usage is possible. Wanted to try out with my Seagull 4A or Shanghai TLR.

Looking forward to anyone's advices. Thank you.

yes it is possible,

there is a sync cord plug located at near the shutter release, just plug in the sync cord and set the flash to X(there should be a X and E or wadever switch somemore)

flash sync is possible at all shutter speed too !

u can. i done it once b4 with a lubitel 166U, believe it or not. i just need to go and get a hotshoe adaptor cos the flash attachment on the lubitel is a 'coldshoe' - ie no contacts.

Yup, possible via pc-sync. Did it with my minolta autocord.

can be done indeed... i did it with my Yashicamat... quite nice results.. only problem I felt was the lens was too wide for proper portraits...

Too wide bcos shooting square format?

It takes some time to adjust to it cos 35mm is rectangle.

Alright guys! I've tried out with my TLR last night and the strobes jsut didn't flash at all. Was it becuz of the faulty cable? Can i use a IR flash trigger unit mounted on a flashlight bracket for my TLR? Please kindly advise. Thank you.

Yes u can use the IR trigger, I think I've used it before....

U gotta put the little knob to X for the flash to fire off... I don't think that there's a flash sync speed for TLRs based on leaf shutters so can't be the flash sync problem...
