And I know of some ppl who claim that P&S photos came out better den the SLR photos with:

    - The same pose
    - The same lighting
    - The same environmental factor

And a blindingly obvious difference between the 2 photos... RED EYE REDUCTION in SLR photos and red eye in P&S.

To this particular person... sharp = good.

Both are correct. Pros will be able to get good results from their present set up. Most of the time when they get a new gear (camera or lens) it is because of certain characteristic from a particular equipment. At the same time many pros are so use to their own gears they are a little lost when handling another camera but their technical knowladge and eye for angles are still there. Case in point, many pro Nikon users can't operate a Canon and some pro Canon user can't use a Nikon
Me? I don't even know where the "on" button is on a Canon.
I get paid more shooting part time ...... damn, I should find more time to shoot part time

Look for a red arrow with the word "ON" pointing at a button.

i guess he is not the onli one who faced this problem. many people thinks that by owning a pro cam they become a pro. i guess its all because of our constant technical arms race here, trying to say which is good which is not.

and simply if i shoot a event. and some "photographer" with a D2x comes messing with me, i think he is realli messing with the wrong guy.

but sad to say. if that guy owns a D2x so what? i think he is realli one super child-like guy. but seriously. nowadays i find more and more "actors" around in the forum. search and look around. u will see plenty of such people around.

pro equipment is not equals to pro photographer.

anyway. that person who owned a D2x and is featured in this thread by the thread starter, i think he better watch out. because he maybe next on my black sheep list.. lets see if we can lure him out. which i think we can. since he can own a D2x, chances is he surely will be a member in CS. and i dun think theres a lot of D2x users islandwide. theres onli quite a handful who owns a D2x.

it's a fun challenge to know with lesser-then-top-end cameras, we can outshoot the pro's with professional features. i'm not there yet, but i must admit my 10d is still holding up fine in low iso situations compared to 1d mk i/ii

not to say i dont want to get it, of course!

Thought it was only for medicinal chewing gum. You got to give your name and IC number when buying it..

But surely, bring pro doesnt mean having the best lenses and the best machines. I use a very humble EF-S kit lens on my 20D for events. and i have gotten the sneers and laughs from other event photographers to the point of telling me : No L lens , no PRO body. how to be serious?!

I just keep quiet and smile. cos i know its a love of taking pictures and im not stuck in a case of "penis" envy amongst them. I deliver the goods and its comforting to tell me that my pictures turned out better than the other dude with the L lens or the 1D body with battery pack for flash, 3 different lens pouches hanging on his already about to drop pants, complete with matching khaki checkered shirt and pants. (subnote: safari?)

Bigger flash, new body, SUPER lens but no good picture?

    Who has the last laugh?
