Hi,
need some help. I'm thinking of getting an f100 from the States, but there are two versions that the wholesaler offers : the one with US warranty, and another with international. The price difference comes up to about $1000SGN !!! I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is any voltage difference or any other difference between the two that warrants such a huge difference. |

The only difference is that the NikonUSA kit has the warranty with NikonUSA's service centres in the States while the International or Grey Import version has the normal international warranty. NikonUSA will only service Nikon items under warranty if you can show the NikonUSA warranty card with a valid US address (or that is what I've been informed by friends in the States). This will be useless unless you live in the States. So just go with the cheaper international version with the normal international warranty card (yellow one) which is regconised world-wide except in the States!!!

heya,
sorry for the phrasing, but the international one is actually about a thousand more expensive than the US one. ![]() There're two international versions - one with a three year warranty and another with a one year warranty. The latter is about $500 cheaper. But both still more x than the US warranty one - which is only about US$900-1000. |

That's new news to me... below is a link to a commonly referred to site, B&H. The cost for the US version is US$999.95 while the Grey Import Version cost US$949.95. Just type in "Nikon F100" in the search box and you will be brought to the relevant pages.
