hmmm to me, the other non panasonic cameras are spoilt. they use either the really freaking expensive xD card or the freaking expensive memory stick.
and for that price, they are both incredibly slow.

For that price, big zoom and no image stabilizer?
gosh, the finepix will be dropped from consideration straight away.

And for that price, the brighter lens still being from FZ5, no need to consider others liaoz.

unless of course, brand loyalty comes in and all rational thoughts go out the window.

For a photographer with 5mp camera, IMHO having a 256 card is something like almost a joke. Having personally being tricked by camera manufacturers (read: getting more and more accessories like memory sticks, batteries, etc), I think it's better to factor in the prices of the accessories too.

For example H1, need to spend an extra $40 on a charger, $30 on 2 sets of 4xAA batt.
For Fuji 5200, same extra $40 + 30 cost.
For FZ5, extra $21 (someone got it at this price) for a (eastgear) branded battery.

Ok, thanks for your comments, you got the points here.
Btw, how about side by side comparision of these two DCs, exp shutter lag, focusing (esp.on zoom condition, FZ5 12X, S5600 10X ? ), low light capatility, manual functions etc ?
Sorry for the requests haven't found the review of S5600 yet.

Thanks,

Rgds,
Caofei

er... sorry, i nvr bothered with the 5200/5600, only know that it got high iso. and 10x zoom. I suppose in lowlight
fuji > fz5 > h1
zoom fz5==h1>fuji
manual function ?????
shutter lag fz5>h1, fuji???
focusing FZ5 is champs.. no fight there. it's faster than consumer grade dSLR lens (those lens which are cheaper than $1000 per piece).

was browsing the canon forum...

Quote:
While the plastic piece of lens adapter is a rip off @ around $50 (if i remember correctly)
Its very useful. It makes holding the camera a LOT easier, a UV filter would also protect
your lens from scratches n fingerprints (it saved mine a few times already)
so.. if you plan to protect your lens on your camera, factor in another $50 for the lens adapter.
