Thanks for the compliments.
Kongo:I was using my 85 f1.4 AF-D as my 70-200 has been sent in for servicing. ![]() |

If you are referring to saturation, nope they are untouched. Basically its a matter of getting the WB and exposure/levels correct and the colours will come naturally. Color casts often rob images of the life they would otherwise have.

Thanx for replying
.Seems like you got more vibrant colors than what I captured . Not too sure what would be the best WB under such conditions. Btw, did you load your own curves too? |

No wonder, I was a bit hesitant as I noticed that the perspective of all shots are quite similar, so you r stuck with a prime in this incident (which might not be a bad thing as u still seems to be able to make the most out of it
). Pics quality aside, your sense of colour, gamma & contrast balancing are always very "right".. I still have a long way to go man, think I have to train up my eyes & brain harder..

Using nikon capture on with my incamera as shot settings(custom curve, flash WB(0)) will actually give me better(smoother) skintones than what was shown here, just that it takes a longer time to output. My default working curve is either oldskool's Astia curve or fotogenetic's WW3.x. I can't remember which was loaded as I've not touched the curve for almost a year since I loaded it. Here's the same image straight out of NC without any adjustment. Some may actually prefer this, but I think it may benefit from a slightly cooler rendition. ![]() Kongo: It helps to read up on color management issues and have a good calibrated moniter. Everything else just falls into place with experience. ![]() Last edited by Zerstorer; 2nd October 2005 at 01:01 AM. |
