Looking for P.A for a job in 3 weeks time.

hello friends,

i'm posting on behalf of my former employer, an industrial/location photographer.

he needs an able-bodied male Chinese P.A(Singaporean) to do an overseas job in about 3weeks time.

it is a major project that will span 4 countries around Asia. the duration will be around 7days for the first 3 countries and 1 final day shoot in the 4th country, free and easy.

the P.A is expected to carry heavy equipments and to be of a certain 'level' in assisting and good knowledge of lighting equipments.

the P.A is expected to be well behaved and to be 'on-the-toes' at all times during the shoot. i.e, no questions with regards to the set-up during the shoot.

the P.A is also expected to be 100% committed to his job. interest in this field is a huge plus.

transport, meals and lodging to be provided(to be discussed in details again).

this is of course a PAID job. and the money's pretty good for a part-timer.

some information about the photographer...

i worked with him back when i was starting out in the photography field. he has taught me alot and shown me lots more with his hands-on and very professional approach. he's one of the few top-notch photographer whom i truly admire and respect.

oh yes, he instilled in me the ideology of never to work for free. learn and be paid at the same time.

1). crucial for the P.A to be Chinese so he can act as an translator when dealing with Chinese.

2). yes, mux be a man. physically demanding.

3). yes, the photographer's not local.

4). u'll be paid and he won't default on ur pay.

5). u'll learn alot.

1). no idea. but from his field, most likely industrial shoots. i don;t think it's oil rigs this time round. most likely for 1 client only.

2). 4 countries in all and they are... China, Korea, The Philippines and Malaysia.

3). most likely no. that i ain't so sure. from past experiences, these big co. always provide drivers... food... lodging etc.

u do not need to know how to do complex lightings on location. u only need to know what's a snoot for, what's the umbrella for... etc.etc. and u must be committed.

and i believe air-tix are for 2ppl to fly off from Spore.

don't worry, there'll be trolleys and such to help u ferry those equipments around. a very good chance to catch a true specialised Industrial/Location Photographer in action. if u want to learn, then learn from the best!

i've passed on all ur PMs and details as well as personal experience onto my former employer. yes, everyone that comes in with detailed information.

there are a few of u who PMed me that have a wealth of experience as a P.A. most likely they are the ones who were approached.

don't lose heart if u've not got the job this time round. my former employer keeps a list of potential P.As for various jobs. most time patience and timing plays a huge factor in landing a particular job, that's what happened to me back then.

keep at it. if there's anything from him to me, i'll info again...
