for farmstay ideas check out www.farmstaywa.com.au

If you're into long distance driving should drive to Margaret River and surrounds (3-4 hours?). If not keen on driving, Swan Valley is close by with vinyards and farmstays. Also check out Whiteman Park and Caversham Wildlife Park (in Swan Valley vacinity).

King's Park (near city) another must go. Can also check out Araluen Botanic Gardens and see if the tulips show is still on, quite pretty.

    Hope this helps.

Some of my favourite photograph places in Perth (for nearby) include:
    1) Kings Park - nice clear view of the city skyline, a lot to see there
    2) Matilda Bay - Just opposite my school, another view of the city over the river
    3) UWA - So nice, I go there everyday
    4) South Perth - Nice nice view of Perth City over the River
    5) Fremantle

Night shots, sunrise shots, sunset shots...
This just made me realise that I like taking photographs of buildings over the river :|

    November is still Spring,
    Summer is Dec, Jan, Feb

If you want to go Araluen, see website is http://www.araluenbotanicpark.com.au/
but I don't know whether the flowers are out in December though.

Since you're coming for a short time, I think you wouldn't really want to spend most of your time on the road travelling around to the far places, but then, could think of the photograph opportunities on the journal, rather than just at the destination

you should take the route down south,i just came back on monday.

    My route is perth-->busselton(overnight)-->walpole(overnight)-->albany(overnight)-->perth
Quite alot to see there, especially around albany.
we miss the wave rock and pinnacle though,as they are not covered by the route.
    a rough estimation
    7 seater car - around $350
    guess you won't need a 7 seater
staying at motels (cooking including) - around $160 per night
    all in australia money.
