Noticed the Sony thread's rather quiet. Would anyone care to share their photos taken by their Sony cams? We can share tips and tricks on the photos posted (eg how a particularly tricky shot was taken due to difficult lighting conditions etc).

Is this taken with the 828? You must have set it at wide angle and on tripod. What are your settings? Pic is sharp and I like the blur movement of the people on the streets signifying motion.

Hi michael, thanks for the compliments.
Yup, you are rite, it's taken with the 828 and at wide angle 28mm eqv. Did not use a tripod though, i was at the food centre, so i made use of the ledge to stabilise the main body while making use of the swivel to tilt slightly downwards. (Love this part about 828 )The settings are Manual, ISO200, 28mm, 1/1.3sec, f/8.

Thanks for sharing the information.
That's what I like about photography. Nowadays with technology, it is not difficult to take photos that are sharp and in focus. What I like to see and analyse is how and what a photographer takes to compose and snap the final photo, what are the challenges involved in taking the picture etc. That's what make a photographer stand out from the rest. Thanks for sharing and keep those photos coming for discussions!

I been using Sony Digital Cameras for quite sometime now, first digital camera was a Sony DSC-F1 and a Mavica FD-7 Those cameras produce crappy quality pictures as compared to the prosumer cams nowadays but back in those days, they are really a 'WOW' thing!
Since the F1 and FD-7, i got myself a DSC-S50, F505V, F707 and U50. Sold all of them except for the F707 and U50. #1. DSC-S50 ![]() #2. DSC-F707 ![]() #3. DSC-U50 ![]() #4. SE K750i ![]() ![]() Sony cameras are the best consumer level cameras ever!

Despite owning DSLR now, I'm still holding on to F828. I find the NightShot mode very useful to create special shooting effects. I sometimes use it during daytime indoors so that I can capture the moment at a faster shutter without flash. Take for example this shot:

Nice to see the Sony threads alive again, with posts from new users as well as those from familiar-looking nicks. Thx for sharing...
Guess the only sucky thing abt Sony cams is... its expensive memory sticks & super expensive accessories (which I steer clear fr getting). ![]()

Great pics! You make difficult shots look so easy. Macro mode, table light, tripod and shoot....the result is a postcard like photo of a daisy flower!
