Thread: 28mm compact recommendation

    Default 28mm compact recommendation

I am looking for a 28mm P&S compact. Any recommendation?
Did some search, not so many around. Ricoh has made quite a few but reviews not so good.

A few shortlisted choices, Coolpix 5400, Lumix LC1(do you consider this P&S compact?) & Fuji E510.

Hi Poland Poh, Whats the concern about Ricoh? Cos recently I am quite interested about this Ricoh "Caplio GX" model. It offers 28mm F2.5 and very wide range shutter speed. Thought its quite good, but never use it before. Thanks.

I have purchase the canon A620 instead. Partly due to the "adjustable LCD" & price.
My last camera was a coolpix 995 with swivel head and hence I find such option is very useful for shooting at different angles.

Wow, think this Ricoh not cheap... not those entry level model prices.
From Pentax to 4/3, back to Pentax and then back to M4/3 !?!?

do watch out for high ISO noise on a ricoh. bought a ricoh some years back due to its fast focus but the images sucks big time that i never really used the camera.

Nikon 8400 is still a fine camera if you can still find one.
    Not just 28 but 24mm

why no one consider Canon PowerShot S60, S70 or S80
    All have wide-angle zoom (28 - 100 mm)

take a look at this comparison also? may be useful. Pana Fx01 and Ricoh R3/4 fits your requirements of 28mm
