    Default What is this about?

Is this really international news for Bloomberg Business?

My BS detector went off when I first looked at this.

    What do you say?

Maybe some web crawlers jumped on the word 'loses'? Do you see the related tags at the bottom with 'Earnings'?
And in the rush to bring it out they missed the difference between an A330 and A380. Just noise for the trash can ..

It's real news. Our ChannelNewsAsia also reported this.

Singapore Airlines also issued a statement that investigation will be done

    Yup... its 'real' news.

With so much electronic on most planes nowadays... losing some system due to computer glitch is highly possible... lets hope Boeing and SIA could find the problem soon.

Anything can happened, regardless Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney or GE. If you'd watched Air Crash Investigation, majority of the crashes were human-caused errors. Recall the QANTAS A380 Flight#32 incident; RR's engine exploded after leaving Singapore just few minutes later. It was concluded that the oil-distribution pipe raptured within the turbine engine, causing fire followed by an explosion. The thickness of the pipe's wall was too thin merely 0.35mm, when too much pressure applied it raptured.
