Default Images Samples from Lens for KM (Casual Shoots Welcome)

Hiee Pals...

Based on request from fellow KM users here in CS, i would like to start this sticky thread as a database for image examples taken with lens for KM bodies. It can be KM or third party lens. Here is a template for posting that each poster needs to use for posting:

Title : Tokina 19-35mm f3.5-4.5 (As an example)
Shot Details : Any description of the shot....

Um, certainly the crops must be 100%, or they are quite pointless?

noticed the subject title changed

reference to my original post here..

http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=152413

Actually, my intention was to provide a space to consolidate pictures taken with specific lens (each lens should have it own thread).

Not looking at the techy side of the lens, but the photo sharing of each lens, perhap we will see:

1) General usage of each lens (more ppl use for portrait or sports?)
2) creative/artistic usage of each lens (ultra wide for portrait, tele for landscape, or may be something even beyond my imagination?)
3) Common space for owners of the same lens to discuss about their lens.
.
.

And all of these thread of each lens will be link back here for quick reference.

Just a thought.

Default 28-75f2.8 (D) - Use in Food Photography

Hiee Pals...

Not able to get hold of a 24-105, i ended up with the 28-75(D).

Just to share some "imaginery concept" shot food photography with the 28-75(D).
Its ablility for close foucs macro shot and good shallow DOF allows it for use in such a shot.

One thing about it is actually its "out of this world" sharpness.
Its amazing how much detail this lens picks...color rendition is very good.

Shot with the help of 5600HD(D) with a diffuser. Color as it out of camera nno tweaking.

rgds,
sulhan

sulhan, the pics are yummy, both the pics, the lens and the food.
Just a quick question though I' not sure how to put it across.
Any reason why the 50mm was not used for such shots?

Hi Pepper...

The secret to it ....no lah....juz picke it up and learned it through these month....
I used the wide angle for the shot to give the food items some "body". THe Wide angle distirtion will give the food some "its big & fat" feel. Same like photographing KFC chicken that is merely palm sized....pop a wider angle (other than 50mm) than you see the chicken will looks fatter and tastier.

You can use this for thin ppl too in portraits to make them look a little beefier...

Hiee Sprussy...

This results is on line with my experience too...though this lens have problem in softness at widest in its corners.....at F8~f11 the sharpness is very consistent throught out the image.
I really like it. Looks like for a non-pro user like me, this lens couple with the 28-75...reall covers already most of my day to day shooting...
