I am using the older version without the AF/MF switch

Love this lens on a FF film camera
but after Crop factor

not so cool anymore

Do you know that it is built like a tank?

was wondering how's the image quality like on a DSLR. the one i saw in town shld be the newer version with the MF/AF clutch (hate this design... )

Can also consider the Nikon 16mm. It is officially named a "fisheye" but on a DSLR it becomes a ultra wide with distortion.

I agree leh (and you know I'm the '3P King' right..... so I not the 'everything also must buy Nikon' type) Have tried Sigma 15-30mm (still ahve it, maybe should sell leow) but cannot compare to Nikon 17-35.

I think buying the 10.5 DX Fisheye is a better investment.

Firstly, you get a true Fisheye for your DSLR.

Secondly, with Nikon Capture, your shots can be converted to recticular wide angle shots (i've tried leow, it's sssuuuupppppeeeeerrrrrr wide)

Here goes the buy and sell, buy and sell again.
Just get the 17-35, solve your prob once and for all..
A gd lens does not mean it must go with a PLO body what..

sometimes you dont shoot fully wide on landscape, so a tele wide like the 17-35 is more than flexible (I dont need to introduce the wonderful features of this lens). Yes people do say, you just have to walk abit the get the right framing while using a prime lens, but may I know, how much are you going to walk back or forth just to get a proper composition of a landscape?? Man I bet you need strong legs and lungs to walk that far.

If you think its not wide enough, then buy the 12-24..

so, unless u got something to contribute to my better understanding to this lens, leave me alone.
