writing this on behalf of my friend ... and me a short story for this lazy late afternoon and so the story goes ...
One cloudy afternoon, Three Macro Shooters met at the seaside off Lower Seletar Reservoir for a small gathering/shootout. after almost an hour after, they noticed A Bird Shooter setting up near where they were, but never really greeted each other, until TMS were about to leave the place.
TMS were busy washing away the mud from the beach near the well when ABS emerged from the seaside, carrying his impressive setup. Attracted to ABS' professional setup, TMS decided to start a friendly conversation with ABS.
the conversation was carried out with lots of smiles ...
TMS: hello, you're here to shoot birds?
ABS: yah, (smiling) but you guys chased them away
(embarrassing silence ... TMS were at the location much earlier, and were very close to some birds and did 'chase' them away, but they were shooting macro, not birds ...)
TMS: oh, we were shooting macro at the beach
ABS: i see
TMS: you go on ClubSnap as well?
ABS: not really
TMS: you know the site?
ABS: yes, yes ... but ClubSnap is more for kids
TMS: oh, then you are with the Nature Society?
ABS: no, no
TMS: this is your hobby
ABS: yes, just a hobby
TMS: never think of going into professional photography?
ABS: haha, can't make a living in Singapore
TMS: is that a D2X?
TMS: wow, and what a long lens
(writer apologise to all readers for inability to recognise the lens ... sorry! )
ABS: the setup is up to two-fourty mm
(2040 mm? 2400 mm? ... nevermind ... ABS offered to let TMS have a go with the setup's focussing performance)
TMS: wow, the focussing is very fast
ABS: yes of course, it's a D2X, if it's not fast can throw away already
TMS: very heavy as well, (jokingly) need to go gym and train to carry this!
ABS: it's not that heavy actually
TMS: at least some 6 to 7 kg?
ABS: definitely much more than that, the lens is already 6kg
(TMS had a try on the weight of the setup)
TMS: wow, at least some 10 over kg
ABS: probably around there
TMS: wow, not easy to be a bird shooter
ABS: (smiles ... look at the weather) the weather looks bad ... so you guys came here to shoot macro?
TMS: yah, (jokingly) no money to shoot birds
ABS: there aren't much to shoot for macro around here i think, probably at the other side
TMS: hey, have you tried Punggol end for bird shooting
ABS: oh yes, i mean we (bird shooters) go to places you guys haven't been before
TMS: ok, we got to go, see you!
Thanks for reading this short story!
