Default D70 Dosen't detect flash

My D70 sometimes failed to detect my SB800 flash. The D70 doesn't get control on the flash,
no communication between flash and D70.Supposed I change the ISO setting on camera, adjust the focal length, aperture and ect, the flash should show the setting changed on LCD.However, it failed........... Need to disattach and attach the flash quite few time to get succesful communication. This problem just appear after I upgrade the firmware.
Have tested the flash with other camera, it works fine.......

Doesn't any one encounter this problem?
