Make sure your SB-800 is set Channel 3 group A. D70 internal flash can only work on this channel & group setting. If you want to use other group/channel, you will need to mount a SB-800 on your D70.

What ESPN was trying to say was this;
Option 1 : internal flash can trigger off remote SB800 or SB600. Set ONLY to channel 3. Option 2 : Mount flash (SB800 or SB600) on camera. Additional remote flash (SB800 or SB600) can be trigger off by the mounted flash. Think i got it right .. ![]() |

I'll add on somemore to ernest_ted:
Option 1: Channel 3 Group A, the inbuilt flash of D70 can only trigger at this setting. Option 2: Mount SB-800 (SB-600 cannot run commnder mode). Press "Sel" hold, switch the flash to "Master", set the channel/group, set your slaves the same way, but this time select "Remote". Make sure your channel/group is the same with your main flash. |

It appears that you have not even set the SB800 to Remote operation, else you wouldn't be asking this.
Do read your manual on how to get to that mode. |
