Default 70-300mm ED

hi, i was wondering if my 70-300ED lens would be enough to support me
during the F1 motorboat racing?

hahaha ok if only i have a TC, perhaps that'll help but will there be degration for my not so good zoom lens? anyway thx espn, ur always there answering ppl's queries!
haha sure a nikon die hard fan and a guru!

If 1.4X TC, it will be 630mm f8.0.
Wonder how is the pic be?

and typically it needs to stop down 2 stops to use, and also a very stable hand or tripod...

wahaha im still very green in this area. i think the pics will turn out to be really soft and ugly

Will try it out on my 70-300mmED if I can get hold for a 1.4X TC for
my 80-200mm f2.8..

Don't think you can mount the 70-300 on the TC, you'll probably scratch the elements.

Erm......70-300ED on F1 boat.......unless the boat is at parking state.....I think it's quite challenging to capture the moving one.....hopefully you got nice weather that day

Well, he can just take panning shots, not neccesary need a fast lens.

Scratch the elements on the TC or 70-300mm?

Both, the rear element of the 70-300 will hit the glass of the TC.

Hmm, just never thought of that..
Only notice the 80-200mm rear element is deeper.

Looks like it won't I know certain glasses don't have rear elements. Somebody can try and let me know.

Depends whether you are on land or in the water. Anyway I am hoping to shoot some bikini babes, 80-400mm should be ok for me.

if you zoom the lens in and out, the rear element will move... some will extend very far out while others stay within the recess area of the lens.
