Default Using older Lenses on ie D70 or any Nikon DSLR

Read a lot of post about when older AI / AIs manual lenses used on
D70 or on any of the new DSLR cameras you loose metering capabilities Matrix as well as centre-weighted.

Was wondering if there are any accessories ie adaptor rings or some gadget like that
to permit at least Centre-Weighted .

Thks

Metering is only available on the pro bodies, like D2*, F5/F6.

THks....anyone do the mod (Adding the CPU) locally.

Looks like no metering, but does the focus lock indicator works with
manual focussing.

Nope.. I think the CPU chip is added by the manufacturers themselves.

As for focus lock, the camera body can only stop the AF motor, but on AF-S glasses we can always override the focusing ring.

sorry, don't know about the chipping, but the focus lock indicator works (the solid circle that appear at the bottom left corner of the VF).

I use my Ai lenses (from my FM2) on my D70. Metering, no worries, I have my Minolta Light Meter 5 to do all my metering, I think it have better metering perfomance anyway.

Use you LCD to help check exposure, it's digital anyway, take a few trial shots and then shoot.
