recharge time varies, depending how much power used for the shot.

Depends on type of batteries used also - Ni-Cad, Ni-MH or alkalines or lithiums.... never used lithiums myself but used Ni-MH and alkalines, think the alkaline has a faster charge cycle.

Minolta claimed the 5600HS has a fast recharge rate and boost a continuous 5 frames exposure. Still, depends on how much power used by each exposure. If first exposure used full power, then recharge rate will be slow. Then comes the EP-2, an external battery pack for the 5600HS to boost up the recharge rate even faster.
