agree. all potential buyers should remember this. The prices here are INDICATIVE & is a GUIDE. Dont go around to shops quoting prices in CS. Pls dont abuse this thread. This is meant for pple who are planning to buy lenses and would like to know rough estimates for their budget & saving $$$ to buy them.

Hi! I'm new to this forum. Own a Z3 & have recently acquired a 5D. Just some quick questions...Sigma 18-200...I thought it didn't come in KM mount? Only Tamron 18-200 has & KM 18-200 (not in Singapore yet?)...have read that (& have a friend with this experience)Tamron lens has a QC problem...not all lenses work ok? Not sure if it's worth waiting for the KM 18-200 to come to town & compare it with the Tamron...thoughts?

Frankly speaking, I wouldn't buy any 18-200 and sacrifice on quality of my photo, not even 28-200. True that its good for all round walkabout lens, then I would rather save the money on my 7D and continue using my Dimage A1 instead. Why? my Dimage A1 can do 28-200 with aperture f/2.8-3.5. What about the 18-200? f/3.5-6.3 for any brand. That's my opinion and my option.

Thanks for the opinion/option...understand you I do...ie rather go for something dedicated in the upper zoom ranges than something that wide & sacrifice images at either end...yes, but I am kinda looking for a slightly better walkaround lens (to the 18-70 kit)...having gotten used to the up to 400 zoom (12x optical) on my z3...the 5D so far outperforms the z3 on lowlight shots....sooo...sigma 18-200 have KM mount? It was listed as one of the lenses in this forum but I thought it didn't come with a KM mount. Also, KM vs Tamron?

Try Tamron 24-135mm SP... great quality in terms of build and pictures. I can understand the need for a all-in-one lens... and the 18-125 from Sigma sounds good but I think there is mo Minolta mount for it. The next best option is 18-200mm, preferably from KM. But u've got to look around for it. Not easily the most available lens I would think...

KM's 18-200 should be out within a month's time or so (already available from one online website), and probably with the 11-18. KM's is just a rebrand with probably different coating from the Tamron's. Otherwise, it is basically the same, ie: lens group/elements, weight. That's a giveaway. So far, the 5 new lenses from KM are identical to Tamron's. 17-35, 28-75, 11-18, 18-70, 18-200.

Checked that Tamron 18-200 is around S$660. Suspected that KM 18-200 probably as you said...basically the same lens rebranded...could cost less though...will wait for it to be available...haven't seen a Sigma 18-200 in km mount. Thanks!

Check out Alan Photo at Sim Lim. The last time I checked (1 month ago) they have 1 Minolta mount Sigma 18-125. According to users at Dpreview, it has got some favourable reviews.
