    could have been much better if you were much closer to her and the background was less noisy. you crammed too many ideas into one shot and it shows in the lines and the background where the traffic is. also, the photo generally looks quite flat and colours are dull.

    simplify.

    I agree with waffle, You tried to cramp too many ideas into one shot. The lines also draw attention towards the background and away from the main subject. Perhaps if the old lady was in a different or brighter color the contrast would have been better. Anyway.. keep trying!

    Hmm...to me it works.

    The contrast between the old and the new, simple and complex, the slow-paced and the fast-paced.

    The direction she's looking at gives a sense of anticipation for something--maybe that's where the title is derived from.

    I'm more interested what's going on in the photographer's mind when the picture was taken.

    The red light more distracting then the rest of the distracting background.
