Contrast kinda flat, colors are lacklustre and overall composition a bit off. Take No. 3 for instance, might have been better to leave out the modern building to the right and have all the attention on the temple roof.

Certainly the colour looks better after some adjustment. Is there any other way to improve if not relying on software adjustment ?

I have an FZ5 too and glad to see what it is capable of...
I prefer the first image in colour...that would have been nice. but agree the images a little dark..probably inherent in the camera software to over compensate...

The first image in colour will be nice too and I do have a colour version as well.
I felt that the temple is slightly new as due to new paint so I took a B/W photo to create a older look.
