Yangon, the capital of Myanmar, is 30 years behind Spore and Bagan is frozen in the 11th century. It’s definitely not an ideal place for us to stay but a photographic paradise.

Transport in Yangon/Myanmar. You pay the same for riding inside or hanging on the out side...

Hello Ptwong
Public transport is out, as u can see fm my post. If you are not travelling with a tour group, the next better transport is to hire a bike to zoom around. Some of them do speak a little English otherwise use international lang - hand signals. ![]() |

Most of the pics are quite interesting but i feel that the shots are not very sharp...
Another thing... maybe for your "looking eyes", no eyebrow may look better and you may want to make the wording LOOKING EYES more transparent? |

Hi
I agreed, some images are soft. I've some back focus issue with my 70-200, looks like it's time to visit Canon for some calibrations. ![]() |

Hi lOOkingEyes, interesting shots here and those on you gallery
May I know if end of the year is a good time to travel in Myanmar? Also how about your travel package? Itinerary, cost, and accomendation, etc. Did you travel alone or in a group? I am planning to go with my wife and, if I could find anyone else, some other friends. Thanks for any information in advance!

Hi Tom
Tks for viewing my gallery. I went on a tour package ($1.6k) which includes most of the meals (breakfast/lunch/dinner) at relative good 4 stars restaurants. We stayed at Tharabar Gate in Bagan, a 4 stars hotel. Best time to shoot is fm Jan to Mar a very hot and dry season. Our itinerary was customized, just like 2 of my friends, they booked a package but due to last min cancellation it ended up only with 2 of them. They go ahead with the package and enjoyed a customized package. Let yr wife know there is not much shopping there. I and my wife spend less than $100 US for the trip…ha haa that’s the lowest I spend for all my holiday trips. All the best.. ![]() |

Thanks for your info man! We are not looking for shopping, more interested in sightseeing and photography. But $1.6k is very expensive
How many days did you spent there? I hope could find cheaper ones, otherwise have to wait a long long time... ![]()

Hi Tom,
A typical 5 days tour package to Bagan should be about SGD900 (very close estimate). This would include the international airfare and all the internal land transfers, domestic airfares, sightseeing, entrances, meals and guide service. At this price it will be based on 4-5 star hotels, basically for 2 nights in Yangon and 2 nights in Bagan. That should give you enough time to do quite a bit of photo taking. Of course you can even cut it cheaper by using more economical hotels and eating at more local restaurants. Guides may not be a "Must" in Bagan as the horsecart riders are quite familiar with all the temples and interesting sights. Let me know if you need more info or need some arrangements done ... I am very familiar with the place ... In the meantime ... ENJOY .... ![]() PS : Sorry Jeffery ... hijiack your thread for a short while .... |
