Last weekend checked with CP Peninsular and TK Foto, both have no news at all.

Darn. Was hoping it'd be similarly priced with the 70-200/4. Now i have to hope this presses down the prices of the 28-70/2.8

There goes my lens. I will not pay at this price.

Because of the IS, the lens is priced so high.

Sigh man, why need IS for such a light weight and small lens.

yup no worth $2k for f4 and extending barrel.
might as well stick to EF24-85/3.5-4.5

You Can't use the US prices to compare with ours. Because Japan has a different export prices to the US compared to with us. Apparently my guess it'll be ard 1600-1800 due to the IS. Will not be above 2K beacuse of f4, if it goes above 2K i might as will settle for 28-70 f2.8?

dun think the price for 24-70mm will drop, both are in different classes...2.8 vs 4

prob force the 28-70 down some more. Seen a number of those floating around in the 2H market around here. Same for the 1D MKII.

If optics output quality is same as 24-70/2.8L,and with IS for 2.8,and extra to 105mm,and<<2K
Sound good to me as travel lens.

But if 2K,even same optics and IS,but at f4,I do not take.
