hi i know lots has been said about which brand/model of camera is best for u/w photography, but many of the models mentioned in this forum are way above my budget! I've whittled it down to these 2:
1) Sony Cybershot W5 2) Fujifilm F10 Both are at least 5 megapixel and above (a pre-requisite that I want) and, just to check, are there any recommendations for camera + housings going for 1k and below? I.e. camera + housing < $1k in total? Thanks, lots of help would be appreciated ![]() |

there is a thread asking similar questions....perhaps u can check out that thread? In fact, the models suggested in many discussions here do fit into your budget if u are just talking about cam + housing, abeit second hand.

F10! F10!
ISO 800 and noise level is comparable to DSLRs (I'll rate the noise levels better than my D70 even)

Hi I am using a Sony W1 (predicessor to the W5, but same spec), the camera cost me $590 bout a year ago, and the underwater housing was $340. Making the total within your budget!
