Hello,

Just wanted to share some pics that I took with my voigtlander bessa-r. Grown to really love this camera now..

Nice work, how'd you do the pano image?

Looks like the pano is made by stitching multiple images because of the fisheye distortion that it created. I am seeing the distortion by the bridge and the river bank. My panoramic widelux does exactly the same.

Thanks for your comments. As what sabrewolf mentioned, it's done by stitching multiple images together and yes unfortunately there's a little distortion but I guess i can live with it lah...

I'm quite surprised with the output myself coz the contrast and colors came out better than expected

out of curiosity, understand the bessa r is fully manual (i may be wrong). how do you focus quickly then, and would you recommend it for black and white street shooting?

Woo Hoo!! Another voigtlander user! I like the use of reflection in the water for your 2nd photo. And yes, the colours in all the photos turned out very well indeed. 35mm colour skopar or ultron?

thanks sojourner! yup, the camera is fully manual. Well for my 35mm lens, the focusing distance is from 0.7m - 6m/infinity so if I know that my subject is further than 6m, I just need to set it at infinity and it'll definitely focus I'll try to gauge the distance between the camera and my subject..

Just take your rangefinder out more often and shoot, you'll get used to the focusing with it very soon!!

Yup, sljim is also using a Bessa R.

For street shooting rangefinder like Bessa is a joy to work with, pretty small so most of the time your subject wouldn't notice it. Although you might want to get the latest Bessa R2A or R3A just to get aperture priority which can be really useful for candids.

Still nothing beats TLR for candid especially when your subject is aware of your presence. Something to do with looking down the viewfinder at 90 degree angle
