Hi all,
I'm thinking about getting a bag, but not sure which bag suits me best. I believe that bag is a long investment so I would be very sad if it's either too small or too big. My potential/future setting would likely to be: 1. Wide lens 17-40L or tamron 11-18mm 2. Zoom lens tamron 24-135mm or canon 28-135 3. Telephoto lens 70-200mm f/4L 4. Macro Lens tamron 90mm f/2.8 5. Prime lens 50 mm f/1.8 6. flash maybe 420/430 7. Camera 350D Do I miss anything? maybe I would like to insert IBOOK G4 inside the bag also if possible. So, my question is : 1. Mini trekker able to fit in 70-200mm attached with 350D? 2. Is Nature Trekker can fit the whole system inside the bag? 3. Is there any other good Bag do u recommend for this setting? Please do help me by giving specific product and pls do state the approximate pricing of you know. Regards. |

What your $ like???
You prefer sling bag or back pack? For sling bag a Lowepro Nova 5 AW is cheap about $80+ Can fit all your equitment. For back pack a Lowepro Mini Trekker AW can do the job too. Price about $80+. Happy Buying... ![]()

The Mini Trekker would fit the whole setup though if you want to include the ibook, it would have to be stored in the unpadded compartment in front. Perhaps you could keep it in a padded neoprene sleeve. A 12" would fit nicely, not sure of the 14".
You can keep the 70-200 mounted on the camera, will fit the bag. The AW version of this bag will give a little more padded protection. I personally think the Nature Trekker will be a little large for your setup. |

Like goldenstars08 stated, sling/shoulder/backpack style and then think about budget. Lowepro seems to be the best value for the money. For example, you could get a great Tenba bag that is similar to a Lowepro, but you'd be spending a lot more money on it. Same goes with Domke (but they are beautiful
)It's hard to find the perfect bag. Are you always going to be carrying all your gear? What I've done over the years is buy a few different bags for different occasions. For example: small bag with minimal gear, medium size bag for jobs that call for more of your equipment (flashes, extra lenses, laptop), and then a travel bag that hauls all your gear for long traveling/flying. Thanx, for the your responses friends.
For myself, I prefer backpack. But, Is nova 5 AW big enough to fit all the setting? Terence: Nature Trekker would be too big? How much does the new mini trekker would cost? thanx. |

I can fit a 20D with battery grip + 300mm f4 IS or 70-200 f2.8 (So a 70-200 f4 shouldn't be a problem), still have room for a 180mm lens, a 580ex flash as well as a 50mm f1.8 lens, a few batteries, a teleconvertor and an extender. Last edited by majere2sg; 30th August 2005 at 01:37 PM. |

They range from $70-$90, depending on the store. This is the non-AW version.

AW = All Weather
It's a stowable waterproof flap. The bags have slightly different pockets but are otherwise identical. For waterproofing, a 10 cent black garbage bag is carried in my bag at all times. Works great when you need a garbage bag for those extended nature shoots too. |
