A friend of mine asked: "This is news meh? Is this worthy for Straits Times to report?" What do you think? What is newsworthy?

It would be newsworthy if they post more pictures of the re-attached appendage and also give more details about it ........

This serves to remind the danger the Singapore men who marry PRC women face.

Even the best urologists and surgeons need "something" to work on right?

First, by the lack of a byline, it's likely that ST did not report it, but republished it. It looks like a syndicated piece, like most of the other international news articles. Second, I don't think the benchmark of 'worthiness' can possibly be defined by one person's interests, going by the following articles you can find under 'Asia News'.

India bans burning cow dung near yellowing Taj Mahal

Elephant tries to 'mount' car in Thailand, officials say it's due to mating season

At a certain point, they're just looking for stuff that will get eyeballs/pageclicks from as many people as possible. Doesn't matter what I think, ST is not my personal newspaper, so if it's not news to me, clearly they hope it is news to someone else.

There isn't much to report if they don't focus on such gossips just like us. Haha
