Default Trip to perth

Hi guys. I'm going to perth next 2 weeks. And worried if the lens cannot stand the whether there. The temperature for night is about 5 degree and the day should be around 20 degree. Do I need to do some protection for my camera and lens? I'm using 20D and Sigma 18-125.

You should probably be concerned about condensation when you move from the cold outdoors to indoors. Your battery life should also be affected when exposed to cold weather. Do a search, got quite a couple of threads on this.

The lens and camera will be fine, no problem. You're not going to be leaving your lens out in the cold at night anyway. Indoors should be relatively much warmer. In the day it's just like air-con temp.

If my naked 300D can tahan Sydney Opera House strong sea breeze in Winter, urs shldn't have a problem.
Yes, the problem u might encounter is condensation when u move frm outdoors to indoors.

Enjoy ur trip. Cheers.

Don't worry too much lah. The operating temperature of your cam is well beyond that. Just go and enjoy your shoot.

Your camera gear will be fine in Perth. It might be windy though, the past few days have been 16~20C but feel cooler. Traditionally the first couple of weeks of September are very variable in weather, you might get lucky and get sunshine or you may cop pouring rain each day.
