860 from CP
830 from MS Color (never ask got GST anot)

all prices quoted are based on cash payments.

I am very very tempted to buy this lens as it's relatively fast (though not as fast as Canon lenses with USM) but it doesn't work well with E-TTL (II).

Thanks man! But I think you got me wrong there.
Its the Sigma 18-50mm F3.5-5.6 not F2.8, thanks anyway! I am planning to buy to F2.8 one also......

Bro, most lenses will suffer from soft images with aperture wide open. But for this lens, it's altready tack sharp at f4.
As for the other Sigma with f3.5-5.6mm, you get good sharpnes only from f6 and beyond.
That's where the bulk of the good $$$ goes to the f2.8 variant. Besides, it's f2.8 throughout. Not bad at all for a walk around lens.
Before you consider the cheaper lens, you might want to compare it to Canon kit lens first which you can get at ~$80 second hand but almost new ones.

Haha, can't agree with you on that. I own a Canon 50mm F1.4 and its pretty sharp all the way through from F1.8 onwards. Tried the Canon 70-200 F2.8 at F2.8 is pretty sharp too. I used to own the kit lense too, it was the softest lense I ever own. Sigma 18-50 F3.5-5.6 is pretty good as compared to the kit lense.
