#1 doesn't look very sharp eh..

Well by looking at #2, notice that the focus is only at the very tip of the flower (closest to us). Less than 1mm behind the area of focus, can see the flower was already out of focus. Sharp: you get to see all the fine details.. like at the very tip. Sorry I don't have better photos, just found this in my FZ5 archive..

Mind you, this is a commonly found flower in singapore, it being not bigger than 3cm. Everyone of us should have seen it b4.

Imagine at 12X zoom, where 1mm of sway forward and back of your body is exaggerated 12X. OIS is only for up down sideways movement i think..

    F2.8, no zoom, 5MP, 1/50s
    #1 uncropped image

    #2 100% crop

On retrospective, I should have use F4.5 or 5.6 so that a bit more of the core remains in focus..

thanks dude.. LOL an additional note, I didn't use any additional lens or filters (other than my UV)

hee anyway take at 5MP, then u crop, you will ge as stunning results. I didn't enlarge the photo btw, i shrunk the #1. #2 is original size.

haha just to let u noe wif the FZ5, I almost gave up taking dragonflies at full zoom. I would sway naturally, and my focus across 4 can end up different parts of the dragonfly, juz cannot get the head. now, for macro (because i suck) i use a tripod.

heh stuck in uni? not NTU?
bleah i'm stuck here in NTU wif sorethroat + slight fever + headache + no girlfriend to take care of me. Life stinks sia..
