Unhappy last pictures

My camera passed away peacefully on 13th Aug 2005. CCD gone

Anyone has similar experience to share and advise me on the cost to repair? Or should I take the plunge into the dark side.....

Took only about 7-10K shots only. It's a C5050 btw..

Any idea how much the CCD replacement would cost?

I'm not exactly sure what's the count.. that's just an estimate. Overall feel is that a kinda darn few shots for a camera that price. Have cameras twice as old with 3 times the mileage and still counting.

It's under 2 years old, used mainly for diving and some miscellanous trips.
