Juz now I pushed my monitor backward by 5cm. Will an LCD do better because of
that I can put it further away from my eyes?

No proof, but it is generally good as nutrients.
But i do know sufficient resting and not staring at an object (etc monitor) for too long helps the eyes in long run.

Looking at greenaries (etc flowers / plants) seem to relax the eys in alot of ways for some pple. It is used as a therapy for healing eyes stress by some.

Does a P&S camera with instant LCD display, e.g. PS Pro or FZ5 help
    preventing this from happening?
When our eyesight deteriorates mostly due to aging, or didn’t take proper care of it.

Most photographers don’t keep viewing the viewfinder for prolong hours, even the for professional like us also won’t do that.

Most people spend more time reading books, newspaper or magazine, viewing TV or computer monitor, so what makes you think photography or your camera will deteriorates your eyesight?

If it is true, most professional photographers should be blind or wearing super duper thick eyeglasses now.

Nah! You should rub your eyes....

Rubbing your eyes is like using a micro fibre cloth or lens pen to polish your lens. After some usage, your eyes will gather dust, smut and dames. Rubbing will polish and improve your blood circulation to your eyes and massage the eye muscles. When the muscles are supple, they will improve your eye lens focusing. Its soo good that you can use manual focus after that.

    Just my 1/3 f-stop...
