Thread: How do I take care of my eyesight while shooting?

Default How do I take care of my eyesight while shooting?

Last week examined my eyes and right eye went up from 275 to 325,
while left eye remained constant. I am suspecting that my camera is
    causing the deteriorating.

Does a P&S camera with instant LCD display, e.g. PS Pro or FZ5 help
    preventing this from happening?

open both eyes when shooting... otherwise, rotate between left & right to the viewfinder... or better still.. buy a MF with a big top down viewfinder.

    maybe you can try this......

    1) avoid shooting closeups for prolong period.
    2) Relax yr eyes after 30 mins of shooting.... look at green distant objects....

Sometimes, it may not be your shooting thats causing your problem, it could be the postprocessing in front of the computer as well....

    what do you think???

Yeah, normal to-dos of eye care like relax and look far distance are helpful. Also staring
at computer too long was also my problem.

actually i would suggest he change camera... cos his camera viewfinder really small... dunno see wat... thats y strain the eyes...

maybe we could lodge a petition to ask DSLR manufacturers to make bigger viewfinder, esp like the 35mm film kind...

Yeah, it is a good idea, since closing one eye while shooting causes fish-tail winkles
on the corner of the eyes also. ( Lady photogs pls watch out this)

What os MF with a big top-down viewfinder? Is it an accessories to be placed on my 350D?

i think the effect would be best if you pour carrot juice over the eyes & use the carrot skin to rub the cornea...

i dun know about Canon..do they have those comfy eyecups that you can rest yr eye to reduce straining to look into the viewfinder......it also prevents stray light from the sides...
i am using 1 for my cam...pretty good...

yes, DSLR too straining for your right eye.

Yes, Live LCD camera will help since no need to look through camera viewfinder.

Alternatively, have you look through a canon eos 1V/3/5 series?
