Memory effect from leaving the NI-MH batteries in the charger (on trickle charge) is something new to me...

My laptop battery failed because of idleness for a few months,
since it was a backup system, so few months never used. When
finally needed it, the battery is dead.

Does that explain why my NiMHs always die out after some 80+ recharges?
    Still, interesting.
