My weekly shoot today. Saw this yellow ladybird. Notice that it has a trasparent flap across the eyes...similar to that of a tortise beetle.
Is the red ladybird like this? Perhaps fellow macroers can comment if you have seen one? Use my FZ10+6T+Sigma CU, F8, Ext flash, ISO 100, various shutter speed. #1: The highway (can see the DOF is very shallow....) ExposureTime : 1/160Sec ![]() #2: Close up: Reversed lens ExposureTime : 1/250Sec ![]()

Nice catch, I have not seen one yet but remember seeing it somewhere in this forum. From the looks, it do look like a ladybird.
The red, green and yellowish part of the leaf makes it a interesting BG. however, I feel that a crop to rid the distracting leaves on the right would give it a more punch. Thanks for sharing |
