Default Newbie macro shot using d50 reversed - F:8 and shutter speed 500

Dear all,

Please comment on my first attempt. Besides that the diamond ring i bought for my wife is a bit small and has got lot of scratches, pls provide some techinical comments. Thanks!

It look ok to me, though I think you can play around with lighting to create more impact. This is definately not an easy subject. Do experiment more and share with us

is it me or is the ring dusty ?

try beaming a concentrated spot of light from the top or use laser pointer also can
