Belkin has a damn chio one, and the price is very chio too~! actually just get a cheap one will do man. USB 2 is running at 480mps while firewire 1 is at 400mps. Only mac has firewire 2 running at 800mps. Most (cause i am not sure if got) PC are running firewire 1. SO why do u need a firewire on PC when USB 2 is apparently faster by 80mps. Same goes for mac. Unless the reader is a firewire 2, wont a USB be faster?

tried and tested on a mac~!

Eh look, all these "mbps" ratings are just describing the theoretical maximum speeds of each protocol. It doesn't mean that the actual hardware will operate at those speeds.

It's not impossible for a Firewire 1394a reader to be faster than a High Speed USB 2.0 reader therefore.

The best way to determine actually how fast a reader is is to use a stopwatch and move the same amount of data.

i tested using 1394a to capture video on PC, but apparently USB 2.0 is faster. but u r right in a sense that each protocol is hardware dependent too. no hard feelings eh? u sound pissed.

    And you sound amusingly oversensitive.
