I go for cheap and silver (to match pbook titanium finish)... lots of examples in Challenger... starting from $12 onwards for a 8 in 1.

Sorry ... borrow your thread a little while ...

Was wondering where i can find reasonably priced firewire multi card reader or just a firewire CF card reader. Seems they're really scarce.

Try Convergent Systems for Lexar Firewire CF card reader (not cheap but transfer rates are amazingly fast) if they still have stock. Not too sure about firewire multi card reader as they are super rare.

Alan Photo have some Lexar firewire card readers. It's a good card reader with very fast transfer rate as compared to the USB ones.

I have seen a Addonics 7N1 firewire reader in SLS some time back. I wish I could remember where exactly.

Hmm.. Lexar got mah. EastGear, Alan Photo, I think CP and MS Color oso carries it.

But den got Memory Stick and CFs, I'll stick to multi-card reader.

I'm using the Lexar USB 2.0 card reader, problem is that the wire look ugly, yet to find one that can recoil the wire. Pretty much spoils the minimality of the MacBooks

Maybe the new PBs would have built in card readers

Terence, it looks a bit big, do you have the dimensions? My PC now comes with FW, so thought can use both on the road and at home.

It's a bit bigger than the rest but the FW feature is attractive enough to give it a go.

Use the FW at home and USB when on the road la. That's what I'd probably end up doing.

I will be mail ordering it from the US as I believe it's going to be a pain in the behind to find it locally.

It's plain looking and has a built in cable. Reads every card out there. Rather well priced too.

There's another one that's smaller in size, uses a separate cable, but I think it looks too PCee
