Secondly, better educated NSmen can make better use of technology to enhance their fighting power.
So does that means the next generation don't have to take IPPT anymore?

that's was what i was told last year too, somemore the news was announced by the chief clerk during out-process, which means this was confirmed last year already

may be the govt decided to wait till election time then announce to the public?

hahaah actually this was implemented long long long time ago already.. but it's not openly known and you have to REQUEST for it.. that is the minimum number you have to serve before requesting for 'early release' or "parole for good behaviour"

Then I think as more and more people learns about it, they might as well make it official. Since they were dealing with units whom are together for the past 7 high keys and imagine suddenly from 1 platoon, 2 sect comd, 1pc, 15 men all want early release. How to maintain a proper fighting unit with 默契 <--english translated to : "common understanding"?

I thought it was 7 high key and 3 low key and 3 BIT - totally 13. Now its just 10 years....and if all is high key, I think thats worse :P

Sheesh ... makes no difference for me ... still have to go for my ICT until I'm 40; besides my unit is still one of these few which have more Hi-key than the norm ...

It was 7 high key minimum, 3 low key and 3 BIT. Total 13 years. This system had been for sometime and announced.

The new scheme is 7 high key minimum and 3 low key. Total 10 years. So there is a discount of 3 years BIT for a total of 6 days. Well....some discount better than non.

The catch is, for both scheme the liability is still until 40. And one have to serve 7 high key min. So some poor peeps in some camps might happily serve 5 low keys and 5 high key but he cannot ROD until he serve 2 more high key. Conversely, on evergreen units one might serve 10 high key and then ROD from there.

Moral of the story. Don't be too happy if the camp keep calling you back for low key. Don't end up having to serve until 40.

Into my 4th year, 4 Hi-keys already, doubt it will go low-key in the next 6 years, my first year was when 911 happened... after that all Hi-Key.
